That time when…
It’s way to early in the morning [5:30] for me to try and answer a question that has over 60 years of answers. Might be a piece of bazooka bubble gum for a penny in 1965 or maybe it could have been that 67′ Chevy c-10 flatbed I bought for $800 in the 1980s.
Whatever it was it probably was the best at the time but times change and with it memories come and go. I’m thinking this answer could change an hour from now so how about I just list a couple of random answers [not in any order] that float across the minds screen for now.

1 - Early morning Yoo-Hoo chocolate drink. This purchase was made daily at around 5-6 am as my older brother and I met up at the end of a paper route we shared.

2 -Shot glass holders. Ninth grade found me buying a set of whiskey shot glass holders in the shape of jockstraps. That's right, they were a gift to a teacher who I embarrassed the shit out of in front of the class.

3 - How about the time in the late 70s when I was hitch-hiking across New Mexico on I-40 and between exercising my thumb without much luck I managed to find enough change alongside the road to purchase a loaf of bread and a pack of lunchmeat.
4 - Might be the stripper dance I bought in the 80s at a country club in Tennessee that I bribed the DJ into playing Sammy Hager's 'Dick in the Dirt' from his album VOA. It was worth every penny just to see the surprise on her face and the anger of the other customers.
{They won't let me make an image for this lol}

5 - Okay that was a personal one but this one was also fun. I purchased a case of canned goods and donated them as the price of a concert ticket to see John Mellencamp live.
6 - Last one for today, a lawyer to draft up my divorce papers.

QUICK UPDATE
From the desk of our favorite Mayor

Hey Brother!
The surgery went well today and no complications.
I’m hurting like a motherfucker but hopefully in about two weeks that will pass.
Doc said nerves were extremely compressed. He said in time without treatment I’d have ended up in a wheelchair. To say I’m grateful is an understatement.
I’m beat to hell, so I’m calling it a night soon. Thank you to you and the entire community for the thoughts and prayers. I truly believe it made a difference
Now I’m gonna take my meds and rest.
Thank you, Ernie. I sit here tonight thankful for a fantastic surgeon, but especially for such fantastic friends
Stay frosty!
