Taters & Gravy or Tossed Salad

It’s a toss up depending on the day and what I’m doing

Daily writing prompt
What app eats up most of your screen time — and do you even feel bad about it?

Gravy first. HELL TO THE NO! I don’t feel bad about sitting in front of this screen and writing daily about whatever crosses the brainwaves. Being retired has brought new direction to my journey and if it is about using a computer so be it.

Now for the lumpy potatoes. It might be a salad instead of taters, a toss up between my email, WordPress, or Suno. These three are all in the forefront of apps I use the most and if you consider Mixcraft and image generators in to the bunch I now have a seven layer salad.

Kites – I get around 400 -600 emails on a daily basis so I find myself spending hours going through them, reading, deleting, starring and then cleaning out the trash and spam files. I do this on a average of three to four times a day.

WordPress – probably the heavy hitter in the line up. This is where I spend countless hours writing both humorous and informative articles. I spend time in here writing and arranging my songs, poetry, and all of the fun challenges presented by the great minds that offer us the chance to power up the thought process. It is the place where connections are made on a daily basis and let’s face it, where I engage in reader learning other points of views and a little bit about you.

Suno Pro has made the list as come on now, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t kill the clock easily in that app. The generating of a song is not a one button push here folks. It is a constant learning of changing instruments, changing BPMs or even the key the song is played in. Then comes the point of “Damn, don’t think it sounds good in that genre so what if I ???, shit now I got to change up the lyrics”.

After making 20-100 versions of a song I have to eliminate the ones that don’t cut it. again, hours upon hours to produce something that might sound good or be slop. And I have some I’ve put out in one genre but sound better in another so files need to be made.

Hell, I didn’t even start in on the image makers. Gemini, again WordPress, OpenArt, and the all important Canva. I can get lost inside all these image makers letting my imagination go wild and hoping the machine can keep up to speed.

BUT WAIT…

What about the apps on my boob tube, they count too right?

Until next time…peace & love my friends.
