Everybody thought I was making stuff up to get their attention as it was just weeks away from Halloween. I had been known as a prankster for many years and loved the thrill of catching someone off guard and scaring the shit out of them.

I guess it was my turn as every night at exactly midnight, someone whispered my name from inside the abandoned house across the street. I had the courage of a Viking when I vehemently marched across the street walking straight up to the door. As I waited for someone or something to answer I quietly pulled my .357 out of the leather valise it was in.
