Another poem was published and released on Spillwords today, a huge thank you to Dagmara K. and all the mothers in the world today.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this poem being released today. I had forgotten all about submitting it. What timing!
Silence of Mourning
written by: Ernest Federspiel
When the night is over
I wake up before the dawn
I sit here and I ponder
Another day to spend alone

Sipping on my first cup of coffee finds me in a peaceful state of mind this morning. Starting with the Spillwords surprise this day has me feeling truly blessed. They are calling for the 70s today and man am I ready for that!

Ten years ago my mother passed on from this world and headed home. It was a tough and sad time for me as I had spent the previous 4 years being her caregiver as she suffered from dementia. Today is her birthday and it has me missing her terribly. Happy Birthday my sweet lady, may you be at peace in heaven, love from your baby runt.

Your three words today are:
KILLER ✅
KIT ✅
KITCHEN ✅
I stood in the kitchen and quietly gazed at you
The disease you had was making me feel so blue
Trials that you went through so I could enjoy life
I never tried to make it easy, always giving you strife
After dad passed I turned wild and roamed free
Never thinking how much you worried over me
Other sons and daughters never leaving your side
Dementia would be the killer silently hiding inside
I had no plans, living this life one day at a time
I'm sitting here today and you're on my mind
Thank you for teaching me to never stop or quit
The morals you installed was part of a greater kit
Life teaches lessons some hard, some not as much
A tough one is that I miss your hugs and gentle touch
Happy Birthday dear mother I hope you rest in peace
My love for you grows stronger since you've deceased
These are two songs that formed a special bond between us.
