I slept most of the day away after a marathon last night. I woke up around 9 pm, here it is midnight and I’m staring at the start of a new day and new year, it has me wanting to thank everyone for jumping the fence and hanging out at the Dawghouse Blog.
This has been quite the year for blessings from our savior and although I will not remember all of them I do want to acknowledge a few of them today. Thank you Lord for the amazing guidance and love you fill my soul with.

Today marks my 68th turn at the wheel of age placing me in the 476th year bracket of a dawgs life. Looking back I naturally start chasing my tail in circles before happily barking, playing and ‘Dawgy Dreamin’.
At this age I look forward to the days I get to lay on Kymber’s porch and enjoy relaxing in the warm sun while lapping lemonade from the special dawgbowl she leaves sitting out for me.
After barking with her and getting belly rubs I hit the trail with no direction known except where the nose leads me. Sniffing through the maze of fading memories I sit and scratch behind my ear for a minute.
Like any dawg, I tend to forget when something catches the ‘Let’s have fun” part of my brain and automatically give a playful bark and wag my tail. This is the case with Di, Esther, Sue & Gary, Sammi Cox and John Holton when they offer the great tasting treats they provide us each week to keep the altered mind busy. There are others for sure but ‘brain farts’ are more common these days so forgive me if you are not listed.
Dawgs never forget when someone shows them love and the first one to do that was the fantastic poet Dawn Pisturino. Her kindness and ear scratches showed me the path that would continue to grow with each day the dawghouse has been in existence.
Others I need to highlight are Willie, who has become a brother and Mary Doyle, Lauren , Nancy and Maggie Watson whose experiences resonate with me deeply, and of course Sirius Sea who is a purr-fect storyteller
This trail of wandering wonders has taken me through places like Kevin’s NTT, where I found a gorilla to playfully run with and Spillwords where the beautiful Dagmara K. showered me with love.

This year also had me finding new posts to stop and sniff along my trail. One in particular was the house of another great poet AJ Wilson who fed me one of the best treats I’ve had in a long time. She showed me a new way to bark and man is it fun.
The result of barking at each other across the pond found me seeking new trails to explore, and in so doing I remodeled one room and added another to the ever evolving construction zone of the Dawghouse Blog.

The Written Word was renamed, given a make over and shows the path I travel with my books of poetry. The Dawghouse Dial is my exciting new addition showcasing the tricks I’ve learned this year. With Starpup moving on into the cosmos, Dandy Dawg arrived and has brought with him an new howling technique which I am highlighting in the official opening today.

Check out channel 103.3 DM on The Dawghouse Dial here or by clicking on the image under my header. The soon to be hot DJ Dandy Dawg will be bringing you unheard dawg whistles and savory treats for your ears to perk up and listen to while offering videos of an Altered Vision Experience.
Doc and Copper have left us this year and are both waiting in Dawgy Heaven to shower us with Licky Licky’s when we arrive along with my brother “Ron ‘Dawg’ Johnston. May all three R.I.P.
As I continue to explore this new Byway allowing me to thread the emotions of my woven words into new sounds of barking I thank you all for this joyous explosion of love you share with me daily and leave you with this classic I listen to each year on this day.
