The question should be what have I done after winning the lottery.
And the answer to that is, why reinvested my money into another ticket of chance. Yes I have won the lottery many times in life and most of the winnings went straight back to buying another scratch off or lottery try.
As I see it, if I spend a dollar to purchase a scratch off and win five I have increased my monetary worth over four times, pretty damn lucky I’d say. Odds are that I might have a small chance to hit the jackpot but until that day arrives I will continue to cherish every small win as a victory.
And the losses? Yes it’s true that I have lost more on scratch offs and quick picks than I have won, but like a lobster in a pan of water, it doesn’t seem to register while the water is warm aka a dollar or two here and there .
Whereas when I score the victory of hitting all six numbers on one ticket things get a little steamier. or…I will start singing like that lobster when the water starts to boil, out of pure joy instead of pain.
Until that day arrives however, I can’t really say what I would do. True I will probably over indulge myself for a hot minute but from there it is all conjecture. Would I be wise? would I be generous? would I be broke in five years? I guess only time can tell the true answer to this question.
