Three Squares In

Thanks brother for this amazing year of friendship, Happy Anniversary. This poem is from my second book Silent Screams and this picture “Screamed” at me to match these up

Three Squares In

Three squares in and the mind turns on
Thoughts slowly start zipping right along
Giggles and laughter for no reason at all
Another fantastic Saturday night call

King Crimson's '21st Century Schizoid Man'
Is leading me into another great band
ELP will provide the classic 'Karn evil #9'
Listening to these start to open the mind

Next I let my ears focus on a Starcastle great
My mind floats away with 'Lady of the Lake'
I had to listen to the famous Bob Seger cut
Jamming up the stereo levels to hear 'Her Strut'

Journeys don't last to long it seems at the time
Music taking control of the visions in my mind
Six hours in the scenes still continue to amaze
Not slowing down I roll another one to blaze

Any journey open's the mind for contemplation 
So next I throw on the greatest of the Temptations
Tearing up the kitchen floor with dancing moves
I feel the 'Sounds of Silence' and fall into the groove

Spyro Gyra lights up the rhythm with some cool jazz
But soon it gets hard with the great album Razamanaz
'Honey Hush', 'Stone Blue', and 'Mississippi Queen'
I'm enjoying this sound trip with visions it seems

As I cruise into another 'Sunday Morning Coming Down'
I feel what Jason Aldean means in 'Try That In A Small Town'
And for this ol' dawg I place vinyl on the turntable of blues
Closing this out with 'Day Tripper' on this three square cruise
