The Boogieman

Halloween is the time for witches, the night of fright if you will
As a special host this week I'll show you these ladies are for real
You see, they are granted one night a year to showcase desires
My fame is told around both winter's hot chocolate and campfires

And unlike the stories where they entice you with tasty treats
My name sends shivers from your head down into your feet
Cold sweat beads up on the goosebumps that cover your skin
Your mind begins to quickly melt when you see me once again

In the depths of darkness is where I like doing my job the best
I'll do a disco dance of frightmares across your exploding chest
When I finish my job you will never have peaceful insanity again
Let me introduce myself, they refer to me as "The Boogieman"

I am not here to scare today, but rather to set the scene right
To offer up a week of thoughts about witches that are outta sight
Knowing I have the rest of the year to scare you into wanting death
I leave you to enjoy this weeks tribute to witches, so hold your breath
