The Witch’s Recipe

She spent her days brewing potions for sale to a select group of people who were the elite crowd of society. she usually made simple potions of love or fame, once in awhile brewing something a little darker.

She led a simple life in a small cottage next to a two acre lake with Spanish moss hanging from the trees. Her little garden sustained her needs for herbs along with the vegetables that grew to enormous sizes.

On this special day she was mixing a potion for her own selfish reasons. A week earlier she had been in town and was enjoying a sunny warm afternoon at the small cafe drinking tea outside on the patio when she had a vision of what could happen on this night of the full moon. she had the whole day to complete her mission and was feeling happy and at ease.

As she busied herself with stirring the reddish brown liquid she noticed the sounds of silence in the forest. A quiet tribute to a Moon Weasel that had followed his fearless leader into the void. The witch of words was completely engrossed in her mission of brewing the perfect drink with just a hint of fennel seed.

Knowing that she would have to simmer the liquid for another three hours to get the consistent flavor to enhance the spell it would cast she let her mind wander into the void of blissful thoughts of rhyme.

The ducks thought they needed a break early on
They had been playing like shit from game one
How they pulled off those first two wins no one knows
She had heard tales of how those ducks could be no shows
But with a potion so carefully made with thoughts of a win
They would surely rise like cream to the top of the Big Ten
Quacking a song of victory when they ran on the field
The defense had finally quit showing up in high heels

With spices of mystery she continued slowly stirring the pot and whispering quiet words from the book of spells she had inherited from the alligator fan whose soul was old and wise. She knew that this potion would only last until the end of the year but with a strong resolve she whispered the final sentence that sealed this drink of victory.

“May the ducks make the play-offs and win the Big Ten conference so that Alabama can render them totally unconscious.”

Leo decided to make an appearance today as AI gave me this on the prompt ‘ an Oregon mascot layed out with stars above his head’..

No post on Alabama as they too have a bye week, ROLL TIDE!
