Try Again

I received a email today from my publisher stating the formatting for the cover of my debut book is to large. I used the KDP template for a 6″ x 9″ with the correct page count but it would not conform to the size needed.
IngramSparks has been a valued source of help and information in this process and I thank them from the bottom of my heart for the guidance they provide.
So, after downloading the 6″ x 9″template from them I have re-formatted the cover to the correct size and am ready to send the PDF to them for round two. I am waiting to find out if I can scrap the first interior and re-submit both again for potential release.

This is a minor setback if that, but more like a lesson learnt well to move forward in this process. Minor mistakes I made the first time has been corrected, as least the ones I’ve noticed thus far.
Now if this is correct this time around then the next step in this journey will be learning more about arc’s and if I need them. I am also learning marketing strategy’s and the best way to move forward with the promoting of my debut book.
This is a time consuming section of this “job” that I don’t want to rush through but would be much better off slowing down and waiting for the light of knowledge to turn green.

I have decided to forgo the e-book and concentrate on paperback and hardback copies in this first release [with the option of e-book later down the path]. This may be bad planning on my part but it may not be too.
I am hoping to sell to library’s and found they prefer hardback copies as they stand up better through time. In the lessons I have been trying to learn and apply has shown me that hardbacks sell well as do paperbacks and e-books can be good for promotion if given away.
And this is where my altered mind finds itself today, on a crash course of “Sorry, Try Again My Friend’
