Next at Bat

Now that I’ve spent time in the reader section seeing what you guys had on the mind and doing the daily prompt I’ve reached the time of morning which finds the coffee working fine.
The pic above has 3 balls flying in the air with one being a solid home run while the other two go afoul, and in my minds eye I see ideas flying towards the foul ball zone too but “two out of three ain’t bad”
First Strike
The first pitch comes as a curve ball, up and behind me it goes at a steady 92 mph. This pitch would be me lighting that first cigarette this morning as I want to give them up. Chantix was started two days ago and hopefully will help me hit a home run.
Second pitch, line drive up the 3rd base line looking good and… foul ball just outside the of left field line. Runners will not advance on this pitch. As life is the pitcher in this game so I step back out of the batter’s box, wipe my hands and stare down the pitcher with confidence
And then out of the blue a game delay…
Change Channels

7 years ago I purchased a 55″ panasonic plasma and fell in love with the quality of the picture and sound , a very nice purchase. About a week ago I start seeing faint lines appearing in the middle of the screen and within a couple of days it grows into a 5″ black line dead in the middle of the screen. “Bummer” is what came to mind. Ok I will need to get a replacement before college football season for sure so a minor setback or ball two.
So I find a nice used set within my limited budget and purchase it without a remote. This tv is a Toshiba which I’ve never dealt with but the lcd picture looks fantastic when the home screen comes on.
Run to Wally world and self check out a new universal remote. Cruise home with high hopes and then, was it a strike or foul? Check with the umpire and find the ball was coming unlaced so no harm no foul.
Make return and go to Meijer’s to see if they have a replacement that will work. In both stores I find a wide variety of universal remotes and after reading the back of them and seeing that Toshiba is indeed on the “list” of possible codes I opt for the RCA as the LG one i got previously didn’t cut it. I head back to the batter’s box and take my next up at bat with confidence.
The pitcher quickly releases another pitch that goes wide and now the count is full. That’s right, this remote doesn’t control anything but the power on/off button. Return this one and go online to find the correct replacement control and it is now on the way.
Seventh Inning Stretch

So as I wait on the next pitcher to warm up and come out to the pitcher’s mound I wait…
The remote will not be here until Monday which means more of a game delay. It’s good that I have mucho music to listen to this week as I eagerly await the replacing remote that hopefully will toss a home run pitch down the sweet spot zone.
Have a great day my friends and until next time,
