The Learning Curve

Time to research this insane idea of mine. I spend on an average of 10 – 14 hours a day doing my blog and trying to learn the process of putting all my material into book form. Not as easy as it sounds I’ll tell you that.
I read tons of information that I don’t know if I need or not but through this journey it is clear that I will be “Home Schooling” for quite some time. I try but cannot understand Word so I opt to try Canva and find a path to start. I figure out how to design a cover I really like but then find out it is just a page and not a cover.
Try Again
Back to the library of the massive knowledge bank known as the internet. I read and read but to no avail so I do what any Dawg would do, chew on a bone. That’s right, I sit back and digest the taste of failure.

So after chasing my tail for to long I head back into Canva and start putting my poems in and get going at a pretty good rate but come on, you know what’s next…
Stumbling Block # 43. I find that now I’ve spent countless hours inputting my pages in Canva that I can’t adjust the font size and when printing a page to check it out I’m bleeding out of parameters and it looks crazy awful. Back to the library of mistakes.
After awhile {a long while} I stagger into a way to use word! Ok, now were cooking with Crisco baby! I find that I can get my poems into the range or parameter’s of the page size needed HOO-RAY!
All of a sudden I am making progress and enjoying the feeling of accomplishment when the time comes to try and make a cover…
Right Turn Clyde

Back to square one. Word isn’t equipped to make a book cover so again I crawl through information and find that maybe if I buy into Canva I can design a cover for the book. I don’t know this for a fact yet as I am still learning my options.
Back to my first love to hate relationship with Canva. This time I go in with a new found knowledge that I had the cover right the whole time. But I still jumped into their learning section and learned the basics of moving around in there. Found how to set margins which is nice to know. I have pretty much gotten the cover where I want it but will need second and third opinions on that. All in all I’m pretty happy that I am getting through this easier than building those dreaded WordPress blocks.
As this journey continues I will keep you informed in this series of confusion.
