Celebrating a Beautiful soul

Born in 1923 on this date, today would have been my mothers 101st birthday so come on in and feel welcome as we celebrate one fine lady! As I enjoy my first cup of java this morning I reminiscence through the many memories of treasure. In the forefront is the love she showed her family on a daily basis.
Busy Busy

The mother of six children this lady was a full time employee for Lincolin Life Insurance group and after my father died in 1974 picked up another full time job at night working for Mr. Wiggs, a department store chain which helped provide luxuries for me in my youth.
A Productive Life
Mom was born outside of Louisville Kentucky and as a child moved to Coesse Indiana where she along with her other five siblings worked the onion farm they lived on during the great depression.
Her family was very musically inclined and mom played the piano and organ most of her life. She tried to impart this wisdom on me as a young child but I refused to learn it as playing outside with the “gang” was more fun.
She was a major cake decorator in the seventies way before the reality shows of today. After work and on week-ends found mom staying up late baking the 4 or 5 tier cake to be delivered the next day. As kids we loved this and when we’d wake up she would let us have warm cake leftovers with milk poured across it. YUMMMY!
Golden Years

As I forged into adulthood we drifted apart and only seen each other when I’d be passing through town on my way to somewhere else. A strong woman who accomplished many amazing things in life. She was always on the go finishing one thing and then tackling another. A piece of wisdom she imparted to me, “The secret to life is to do something as soon as you think of doing it.”

Happy Birthday dear lady and R.I.P. Love your baby. Do you have a antidote you would like to share?
