Way Back What?

I’m guessing they are not asking about math.

Daily writing prompt
Describe something you learned in high school.✅

This is taking me way back in the memory banks. High school learnin’ huh?

Well, let’s see. I was in High school from 1974 to 1976. I learned all kinds of stuff in those three years that formed a lot of what I would become later in life. To pick just one will take some time so this is a two part post. It’s 12:41 in the A.M. and I am closing this until I rouse myself up and make coffee later this morning.

7:52 a.m.

I’m back with a fresh first cup of french roast. In reply to this prompt I am going with something I learnt in my sophomore year. Can’t recall the name of the teacher or class but we had to read a short story and then one by one we were called into the hall where we had to recall what the story was. I failed.

My teacher told me I didn’t retain what the story was about. I disagreed with her as I gave her a condensed version of what I read. It wasn’t good enough. So, I learned that people are judgemental and only see what they want to see. More to the point I learned that people in power judge you on their beliefs, not the facts.

Here I sit 52 years later and find I am still condensing stories as I write these posts everyday and guess what. People in power still do not listen to what we have to say, they are busy destroying the world with their own drama and beliefs. Don’t get me wrong, they might hear you but that doesn’t mean they are listening.
