Call Me

Try it, I Dare Ya. Go Ahead, Don’t be scared.

Hold On

Have you ever had one of these days? I’m sure you’ve had at least one.

I’m retired and find that I don’t have to pay taxes on my income as it is only SS retirement. Not correct Uncle Sam. Even if this was true shouldn’t they send my 1099 anyway? I mean illegals get tax refunds every year in our misused and misguided government that is full of flaws so why not me?

Fair question right. So I call the toll free number and sit on hold for 15 minutes and then I am cut off. Try again, same thing. Want us to call you back, NO as that would really happen right.

So I try another route and find the number for the local office and call them. After a quick session with a bot I get put on hold and figure this is another road full of potholes and detours. I was wrong. After about four minutes a real human comes on and after making sure it was me by asking the usual questions he told me that it would be mailed out today.

Surprised? bet your sweet tooth I was! I’ve never had such prompt and friendly service when dealing with any government office before. I am blown away.

Step Back

I’ve backed off on making YouTube videos as I’ve been busy chasing my tail around in circles [Dawgs do this]. The music I’ve been playing around with has also hit speed bumps. I was speeding inside a school zone trying to go to fast when I should have been paying more attention to the rules.

I got carried away after seeing that a lot of people liked my song ‘Boom Boom Boom’ and thought to myself ‘Self, you need to blast this out on the airwaves’. I was wrong. I’ve pulled the release down due to inexperience and incompetence. I needed to step back and realize that usually a coat of tar covers cracks in the roadway but rarely does it do the job right. Smooth travel requires the road to be cut properly, graded and paved with care if it is to have longevity.

The road I want to travel on in the future isn’t one that can be constantly under construction like the Dawghouse Dive is. I want it to be free of any unexpected potholes or detours. If all the necessary paperwork and permits are filed correctly then the construction can begin in earnest.

I should have learned this when I did my two books but noooo not this dawg. Maybe I did but then ignored it with my over zealous attitude. Either way I have seen the traffic jam ahead and hit the brakes hard.

Try Again

After liking what I heard with my first song ‘It’s 4:20 in the A.M’ I never had any illusions that my stuff was worthy of being mainstream. I was more interested in making a vinyl to add to my 500+ collection, I mean how cool would that be? Having a vinyl in my stack that I wrote and arranged would be a top shelf treat in my altered mind.

I never gave thought to the fact that someone might claim I ripped them off. So, I dived into what kind of flea collar I had to have to protect myself from any unwanted bites. I’ve found I need more than one way to keep the creepy crawlers from attacking me. Enter the copywrite office. They have new rules for AI generated music and I need to submit an application to have my song[s] registered with them. I also have a few other hoops to jump through which will take time and money to achieve. I will still put some up here and there for the Dawghouse Dial but as for the airwaves, not so much. I will continue to learn the right way to achieve my goal of owning a 33 1/3 for my spinning pleasure but for now I leave this post with this image and song to remind myself I need to slow down and do it right.
