History Facts
John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Monroe all died on July 4.   √

In 1777 America celebrated it’s first Fourth of July as an independent country. The unmatched pride has evolved into a massive party each year celebrating the Patriot’s that founded this once great nation. In a twisted way three of our forefathers countervailed these celebrations by up and dying on this national holiday. These deaths, in time did not put a damper on the tradition though and today many people will be partying like it’s 1999.

As for me? Well partying is not on the menu today but I will honour the fact that our ancestors fought for our freedom, allowing us to become what can only be described as a nation divided. I say this knowing that I am no authority on this matter, speaking of which, I am an authority on another matter that may relate to this subject.

Brisket, yes that’s what I’m claiming to be an authority on today. The time and care I spend on preparing a brisket is like making love; it requires detailed attention and passion to create something satisfying”. The long rubs and massaging of the meat and then slowly warming it to perfection is an art of dedication requiring hours of patience and love resulting in the most satisfying feeling imaginable.
