On a walk in the summer sun I was overcome with a desire for a cool drink of water so I headed over to the Cruise in Cafe on 34th and Crock, a Boîte that highlights local entertainment in the afternoons and early evenings before the big acts take the stage.

As I sat in a dimly lit room at a corner table, the singer on stage lulled me into thoughts of the past. She was a beautiful brunette and her hourglass figure was eerily like the historic Marilyn  Monroe.

Or maybe it was this historic figure that floated across my mind…
