So as I sit outside of the courtroom waiting to see the judge I contemplate the adjure to change my name.

Bret and Bubba are out of the question, I run a group of names together sounding them out in my head. I have had so many nicknames in this lifetime I could answer to almost anything but I lean towards George or Bill. A last name isn’t important at the moment, so I concentrate on all the things I will have to do after talking to the judge.

At last the bailiff steps into the hall and calls my name. As giggles and chuckles fill the air I walk into the chambers of Judge Harry Baals who used to be the mayor of my hometown. After hearing him lecture me on the importance of my Christian given name he huffily askes why I feel the need to change my name, my answer is simple and direct…
