Back At It

After a brief time away I got some things straightened out enough for me to come back and play.

John's prompts - Write a post inspired by the word phones.
What is the most boring aspect of life at the moment?

Di’s prompt – Your three words today are:
HUMDRUM
DULL
BORING

Word of the Day
Deterge - dəˈtərj
Verb
Cleanse thoroughly.
Word Origin: French, early 17th century

Seeing how this is Thursday morning and the coffee is hot and delicious, I am waking up and grateful to be able to get back to the challenges. I also see that Kevin is back with new material to awaken our thought process too.

My word of the day usually doesn’t show up until after 6 a.m. I am tending to guess that is about the time supervisors find their way into a cubicle and question why Sharif from India isn’t on the phones yet.

Sharif wants to scream at her boss that the day gets boring and dull until someone calls in and gets rude to her. She went off on one customer yesterday that almost cost her her humdrum job but after sitting in the supervisor’s office for a half an hour getting lectured on the etiquitte of her professional life she was sent back to her desk.

Her boss reminded her of her dad and as she sat there listening to him drone on about being nice. She thought back on how her father used to deterge her mouth out with soap for talking like she did yesterday.

After stewing for another hour Sharif quit her job and found a job that she could do sitting at home, the same job for a different company that didn’t pay half of what she made which left her asking herself “What is the most boring aspect of life at the moment?”
