Immediate Attention Required

Is the result of love toxic, a competition of immediate demand
Can relationships survive based on wrong decisions or options
Does the flame that ignites in lonely hearts recognize desperation
Or is it there to supply false interpretations of hurt that is planned

When did the self worth standards fall to such a drastic low stage
Allowing other people to dictate how you judge your own value of life
Changing yourself from the core to please another feels insane
Like slashing my soul with a razor expecting joy instead of rage

Falling in love, you accept the personality and looks of one so dear
Wanting to encompass the sensation of happiness they supply
Before long tiny eruptions of change begin to envelop your mind
And to this day my friend, is why lonely love is the thing I most fear 

Falling in love with someone and then picking them apart to be what you think they should be is not my conception of true love. It is sadly though, the experiences of my life. This is why I choose to love you for who you are, not wanting to change you. I am happy with who I am and would rather live alone for the rest of my days instead of changing to fit someone’s else’s view of who I should be.
