Another Cup of Joe and Then Some

Starting out with a cup of Starbuck’s and some groovin’ soul music from the seventies, mix in a little reader conversation and before I know it the time has come to pour another cup.

I don’t have any direction I wish to pursue this morning so again you get a ramblin’ nonsense post from the dawghouse.

Tomorrow night is the time for many folk to go out partying and I wish you all a safe night of dancing, drinking and whooping it up at midnight. Please be safe.

My foolish nights behind me with older age, my plans are simple…stay in the dawghouse and probably be asleep shortly after the ball drops.

Resolutions are to be made in the next day or two and broken in the next week or two. This seems to be the norm for many but as for me, I start the New Year in February on my birthday as it has always seemed to me that this is the true New year for me. Born under the sign of the Dog in Chinese calendar it just feels right somehow.

Also by doing this I have another month to figure out if I want to make any resolutions or not.

Mistakes have been made this year along with progress moving forward so ups and downs are in the rearview mirror or soon to be anyway. I send sincere apologies to all I have wronged in even the simplest ways. Be Happy!

Along with the mistakes I have been blessed with some great friends who challenge my altered mind and bring joy to me with the stories and poems you all share. Thank you!!!

End of Ramble for now. Thanx for stopping by today and enjoy the rest of the year!!!

  3. Fun post, Dawg. Very entertaining!

I’m a Feb baby, too. What day are you?

My mister and I will be in bed long before the ball drops. I’ve lived in NY all my life but I’ve never been to Times Square on NYE and never will. Doing so these days is extremely difficult: people are expected to arrive early (like around noon!); no bags, umbrellas, etc are allowed; no alcohol; no one is allowed to leave the area to find a bathroom. I can’t imagine standing in one place for 12 hours in cold, miserable weather. Sounds like hell and a great way to catch Covid!

    Have a pleasant night, Dawg.

    1. Six days in will find me blowing out candles. I have never really wanted to be there to watch the ball drop. After driving truck into that city on a weekly basis for many years The apple has left a dry taste in my mouth. Happy New Year to you and yours Nancy.

  5. Sometimes you just don’t need any plans and it’s just go with the flow and see where it takes you.

Enjoy your day, whatever you decide to do or not do.

I am having a relaxing day after work this morning. No plans than I have been popping on here in between watching films. I shall be popping off soon. Another mug of tea and then see what film I can find next to entertain me.

New Year Eve I will be in noddyland before New Year comes around. I won’t be aware of it unless some really loud fireworks get set off. So if that is the case, I hope I soon nod back off.

Have a Happy New Year and best wishes for the coming year.
