Three lives ago I hung around a club filled with the sounds of jazz
In the nighttime I was running with alley cats, living hard and fast
In the waning hours before dawn I would curl up and listen to the sound
Coming from inside a building where some musicians were getting down
One Saturday night I thought I would skip the running of the streets
Hanging around the back door, I was hoping for some fancy treats
I heard the roar of an engine, caught the flash of something bright red
Exactly nineteen seconds later my third life was dead

Do I look like I am sad or that I even care about some alley cat's life
I mean seriously dude, I'm not just yet another rich man's spoiled wife
I do what I want when I want and throw caution to the damn wind
I paid for this Ferrari with money he earned and would do it over again
Why was that cat out there acting like some kind of spoiled furry thing
Getting blood on my tires while I was admiring my shiny new ring
And does it really matter in the bigger scheme of life as they say
I have a fiancee now and a marriage will soon be getting underway

Six lives I've led and now I relax on this shiny carnauba waxed sports car
Remembering how life has changed from when I died behind that jazz bar
I found a man who thought I was a strange kind of cat and took me home
Feeds me live treats and gave me a forest to play in and call the place home
I find something strange about the lady that comes over here every night
She never pets me and it seems that she only shows up to start a fight
As I silently lay here in wait for that blonde to arrive I offer her no slack
I will produce my claws and show her the results of a cool cat attack
This is an entry to Kevin’s NTT sent to the Mayor’s mansion at The Beginning At Last.
