2nd Gear

I did a prompt this morning while enjoying my first cup of love and it woke me up enough to write this second post hence the title 2nd gear.

Last night I had a phone conversation with my niece “Granny” a nickname given to her as a child which she hated growing up but now laughs at it. She has an outlook on life that resonates with me as she can have you rolling on the floor like a troglodyte in times of old.

Her son Brandon is her closest friend in life it seems and he can be as big of a smart-ass as her. Brandon lost his legs in that damn sand war that has been going on forever but he didn’t lose his fantastic outlook on life.

“Here’s to ya brother, stand up and take a bow.” Now before you get upset about me saying this let me explain that since he came back home our family refused to baby him as he refused to let life get him down.

I mean this cat had a zip line put in his backyard and used it until he didn’t. a tough landing at the end of a fast ride. Anyone who lives life with his gusto earns respect from me without hesitation.

They live down around Saint Augustine Florida and it has been a few years since I’ve been down to see them so the phone call was filled with laughter, stories from the past and just plain damn ol’ love

So as we leave the beautiful sights of Florida behind we make a quick stop visiting Pompano Beach and having a virtual cup of black juice with Black Moon Lilith, the only Caffeine Queen of Darkness.

This being Saturday morning it would only be right to ease our trip past the zoo in Eugene Oregon and check out the display of the ducks paddling their feet like crazy while trying to remain calm in the second week of the race to the title game.

After feeding the ducks a healthy dose of ‘ROLL TIDE’ and stale crackers the trip heads back towards the ‘Dawghouse’.

With this being Saturday it would not be a justifiable post without Big Al making an appearance in the home where the fresh Starbucks is calling and reflections of another mind filled ride of love is reflected on.

P.S. the hat displaying the NFL symbol wasn’t part of the planned design but works fine as we put more player’s in there than any other team over the last decade.
